These regulations specify the size, format, font, and spacing requirements for license plates permitted for road use. Show plates may diverge from these standards by incorporating decorative elements, unconventional characters, or modified spacing, which would not be allowed on a road-legal license plate.

Displaying non-compliant license plates can result in penalties, fines, or even the confiscation of the plates and the vehicle's registration documents. Therefore, show plates should exclusively be used for display purposes and not while operating a vehicle on public roads.
